Looking back

–
The project of my optical book

–
And these were the books created by the partecipants

Waiting for some new materials to post...

Back in 2009 I did a very interesting workshop at the event "Teach me 6: very very stupid" organised by Giorgio Camuffo at the University IUAV of Venice. Our group leaded by the Tankboys (a young graphic design studio from Venice) needed to create a book as an artwork (libro d'artista).
At that time I was quite in an optical mood :) so I decieded to do something optical with my book. And the result was: Optical book vol. 1, hand-made during the 3-day workshop. It wasn't a real book, it just seemed to be a book from a certain distance... I had so much fun creating it :)

During this event I learnt so much, and I also realized that for the very first time I was among the oldests of the group - yes, this workshop is mainly for the IUAV graphic design students...

Hope to be able to partecipate also at this year's edition!

Inspiration from the Biennale di Venezia

Searching for inspiration I have found these photos that I took at the Biennale di Venezia last year. I loved it, although the entrance fee was kind of expensive!
I'm working on some very interesting projects nowadays, plus I would like to partecipate at a logo design contest... I have already my idea, now it is about to sit down and design it!

Last days of summer in Venice - Japanese graphic design exhibition

On my one and only free day in the past month I decided to go to Venice just to have a little bit of relax. I feel very fortunate being a freelance, I can choose to have a day off and just go to Venice and clear my mind! I really enjoyed being on my own, and having time to think.
I visited the exhibition called "Graphic design dal Giappone. 100 poster 2001-2010": a collection of japanese advertising posters at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice. I love Japanese graphic design!!! So I loved the exhibition :)
Here I'm posting just a selection of the photos that I took - of course I took a photo of every poster :)

Plus I got to know a very interesting project called Design in gabbia (in English: Design in cage), a project involving some prisoners to create everyday useful things like kitchen utilities, shopping bags and stuff like that. A very nice logo, graphic design and promotional campaign! Loved it!
