Flour power

In this difficult time of economy crisis we really need to think before we buy something.
In Italy we have products called "zero km", which means that they (mainly food) are from your local area. Choosing local you can save the small producers/farmers and the environment, beacuse food trasportation is one of the main reasons of air pollution! I like cooking and finally last week I have found my flour of "zero km"!!!

Inspiration from the Biennale di Venezia

Searching for inspiration I have found these photos that I took at the Biennale di Venezia last year. I loved it, although the entrance fee was kind of expensive!
I'm working on some very interesting projects nowadays, plus I would like to partecipate at a logo design contest... I have already my idea, now it is about to sit down and design it!

Tartaruga

I'm working on an illustration for a calendar 2011. It's nearly done... I will post it soon!
The topic is very very sad and it is difficult to illustrate. I'm curious what the other months will be like. I can't wait to see the other illustrators' work!
In the meanwhile I "accidently" have created this sea turtle. It came out form a stain.
I like stains and I like "accidents" like that. It is such a strange thing, I feel like I didn't do anything, it is just a beautiful stain.

Last days of summer in Venice - Japanese graphic design exhibition

On my one and only free day in the past month I decided to go to Venice just to have a little bit of relax. I feel very fortunate being a freelance, I can choose to have a day off and just go to Venice and clear my mind! I really enjoyed being on my own, and having time to think.
I visited the exhibition called "Graphic design dal Giappone. 100 poster 2001-2010": a collection of japanese advertising posters at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice. I love Japanese graphic design!!! So I loved the exhibition :)
Here I'm posting just a selection of the photos that I took - of course I took a photo of every poster :)

Plus I got to know a very interesting project called Design in gabbia (in English: Design in cage), a project involving some prisoners to create everyday useful things like kitchen utilities, shopping bags and stuff like that. A very nice logo, graphic design and promotional campaign! Loved it!

And this is the bag that I bought :) lovely!!!

Relaxing

Hi everyone, sorry for the late post. I'm working on several interesting projects and I'm also trying to go out more often when I have a little free time. The weather is so hot here, you just cannot stay inside the buildings without air-conditioning. The last weekend me and my boyfriend were in Caorle (near Venice, Italy), where we did a short trip by boat to visit the sorroundings. It was so relaxing and totally another way to enjoy the sea: without people around, just sunbathing and swimming. And the laguna area was just so magic!

Thanks to Stefano for inviting us!

Good 50x70 - 4th edition

4 days left!!! I'm working (I'm just thinking about the subjects, not started to 'work' on them, just projecting in my head...) on my proposal for the Good 50x70 social comunication contest... If only I could have more time :) This is one of my favourite contests about social comunication, I think it is the most important contest about social issues in Italy. They expect to see works of genuine creativity in support of the seven briefs.

Visit their link and participate:

From the 'Magdalena' – Festival of creative comunication

Although I didn't have time to do the workshops, it was still worth to visit this year's Magdalena Festival. Here is a selection of the photos that I took of the main exhibition from this year's creative contest's partecipants and from the 88th Art Directors Club exhibition.
I was also at the opening of the personal exhibition of Samira Kentric, an illustrator from Slovenia. Her digital work focusing on actual political life is very funny and drammatic at the same time!
Unfortunately arriving on friday afternoon I wasn't able to listen to all the lectures, but I did partecipate at a very interesting lecture about product design of a serbian designer Damjan Stankovic. He presented his projects and concepts developed in the past tho years, including his web based showcase, RELOGIK.
The only thing that I didn't like was the Award Cerimony. I was so disappointed because 2 years ago it was fantastic, very funny, unusual and... I wish better luck for next year :)
So here they are, the PHOTOS :)
